On Thursday 24 October, Ministers Gatti and Fabbri met Edward Bannerman, Director of Shareholder Relations at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). Mr Bannerman underlined the current excellent cooperation and ongoing dialogue with San Marino authorities and urged San Marino to ratify as soon as possible the amendments to the EBRD’s By-Laws, which will expand the Bank’s operational possibilities.

On the same day, a meeting was held with the Hungarian Minister of Finance, Mihály Varga. The two delegations expressed the common will to further intensify and strengthen the political and economic relations between the two countries, supported by important agreements such as the one against double taxation and the one on the protection and promotion of investments.

Minister Gatti thanked Hungary for its support to the association process with the European Union and reiterated San Marino’s wish to sign the agreement, possibly during the Hungarian Presidency of the EU Council.

At the end of the day, the San Marino delegation met delegates from Andorra to exchange views and discuss the commitments that the countries will have to fulfil as a result of the Association Agreement. These activities underline San Marino’s efforts to maintain and strengthen international relations, with a focus on political and economic cooperation.
